AG to not lodge case against Rabi Lamichhane on passport issue

KATHMANDU- Attorney General Din Mani Pokharel on Monday decided to not lodge a case against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane on his passport issue.
According to the Office of the Attorney General, Lamichhane will not be tried over the passport issue.
The Office of the District Government Attorney Kathmandu submitted a report with the decision to not lodge a case against Lamichhane to the High Court Government Attorney’s Office.
The Office said that the record with the Department of Immigration does not show that the passport has been misused.
Likewise, since Lamichhane was a Nepali citizen by descent before acquiring an American citizenship hence Lamichhane’s status then was that of a non-resident Nepali, not a foreigner.
