6th edition of Global Nepali Film Awards to take place on August 12 in New York

KATHMANDU- The fifth edition of the 2022 ‘Fifth AT Everest Global Nepali Film Award,’ which has its own name, pride, and identity, as well as the award distribution program to filmmakers who were unable to attend the award ceremony due to various reasons, has concluded with grandeur in Kathmandu.

The award ceremony, which took place in Denver, Colorado, USA, was completed with dignity and grandeur. According to Nawaraj Shrestha, Chairperson of Global Nepali Film Awards, the ‘Global Nepali Film Awards’ have been held for the past five years to reward and encourage filmmakers.

According to Nepali Film Society Chair Krishna Malla, the Global Nepali Film Awards, which began with the slogan ‘Nepali Cinema Village to Globe,’ were unable to travel to America to participate in the award program due to technical issues, but the award winning filmmakers, media persons, and sponsors were given awards and symbols of love.

State Assembly member Madukumar Shrestha, Chairperson of the Film Development Board Bhuwan KC, eminent filmmakers and artists Nir Shah, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya, Premraja Mahat, Rabindra Khadka, Naval Khadka, Mohan Niroula, Sharmila Malla, Basundhara Bhusal, Chaitya Devi, Sharmila Malla, Bishnu Gopal Shrestha, Narayan Pradhan, Arjun Jung Shahi, Dinesh DC, Narayan Puri, Yajnalal Shrestha, Chaviraj Joshi and other personalities were present.

The Global Nepali Film Award, which aims to honor, reward, and encourage Nepali filmmakers while also promoting the Nepali cinema market, reuniting artists, and awarding film tourism, has been organized, and the sixth edition of the Global Nepali Film Award (2023) will be held on August 12, 2023 in New York City, United States of America. The Chair of the Nepal Film Society, Krishna Malla, has announced.

At the award ceremony’s conclusion, distinguished composer Sangeet Ratna Shambhujit Baskota received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Similarly, Hari Bahadur Thapa received the Gehendra Dhimal Smriti Award, Deepak Raj Giri was named Best Actor of the Year, and film workers, media workers, and sponsors received tokens of appreciation.

The ‘Fifth ETA Everest Global Nepali Film Award’ was co-organized by Global Nepali Film Award LLC, Nepal Film Society, Golden State Movie Maker LLC, and 8848 Media House LLC.
