The CPN (Unified Socialist) has claimed that the famous ’11 programs’ held by the government at different times took place when party president Madhav Kumar Nepal and respected leader Jhalnath Khanal were prime ministers and ministers.
In the local level election manifesto-2079 that was passed on Sunday, it is mentioned that the President of Nepal has prepared for the ‘Own Village, Build Your Own’ campaign which was launched 27 years ago by the Unified Socialists.
It is believed that the fundamental change in the field of local development of the country has come about because of the campaign ‘Own Village, Build Your Own’. It is stated in the manifesto that when the first communist prime minister, Manmohan Adhikari, was the deputy prime minister in the government, Nepal prepared a draft policy and program with campaigns.
Due to the campaign, the budget has gone to the local level and a new dimension has been added to the development.
It is also mentioned in the manifesto that the Nepal-led government has conducted the program ‘Cooperatives in Villages, Employment in Households’ to prepare the foundation of a socialist-oriented economy.
Pushpalal Lokmarg (Madhyapahari), Kathmandu-Nijgarh Expressway, the country’s entry into the tunnel age, increasing the presence of women and oppressed communities at the local level and bidding farewell to the United Nations Peace Mission ‘UNMIN’ which came to establish peace are also considered achievements by the integrated socialist.
Similarly, the issue of Nepal playing a leading role for the establishment of the republic is also included in the manifesto.
